Taliban asked Pakistan to destroy ISIS hideouts

PNN – The Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the caretaker Taliban government issued a statement in response to the recent speech of Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan affairs and emphasized: Islamabad must destroy ISIS hideouts along the Durand Line.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Hafez Zia Ahmad Takal (Tuesday) wrote on the X social network: Asif Durrani’s statements regarding the presence of ISIS in Afghanistan are far from reality and an attempt to worry the public.

He added: Durrani has attributed problems and dangers to Afghanistan, but in fact the possibility of all these can be seen in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan recently warned about the presence of various terrorist groups, including Daesh Khorasan, as a major challenge in the region and beyond.

In this regard, Durrani added: ISIS [actions] have increased in Afghanistan and this should be a concern for everyone in the region and beyond due to their actions in Iran, Russia and Pakistan.

He continued: If something like this can happen here, it can happen elsewhere. So everyone should be worried.

Durrani also announced in another part of his speech that the world’s inattention to Afghanistan will lead the country to a situation similar to that of September 11.

Zia Ahmad Takal also made the claim that Afghanistan has been able to completely suppress ISIS: if ISIS hideouts along the Durand Line (Pakistan side) are destroyed, the danger of this group will disappear completely.

These statements are being made while ISIS’s movements in a region of Afghanistan have increased, and concerns about the threats from this country have increased, and also, in the last 2 weeks, ISIS claimed responsibility for an attack in the “Dasht Barchi” area of Kabul.

Zia Ahmad Takal emphasized about Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan: this group is considered an internal problem of Pakistan and wants an internal solution.

He added: Kabul has already shown its goodwill and now effective Pakistani institutions should take logical and practical measures to solve this problem.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan also asked Durrani, as a diplomat, to avoid damaging the relations between the two countries through provocative media comments.
