Taliban seeks to expand economic cooperation with Türkiye

PNN – The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the caretaker government of the Afghan Taliban called for the expansion of bilateral economic cooperation in a meeting with the charge d’affaires of the Turkish Embassy in Kabul.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, quoted by Bakhtar news agency, Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, Deputy Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the caretaker government of the Taliban, wrote on X social network that in this meeting, bilateral relations, recent positive measures in Afghanistan and the visit of high-ranking political and economic delegations of many countries to Afghanistan were discussed.

In this meeting, Maulvi Amir Khan Motaghi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the caretaker Taliban government, praised Turkey’s commercial stance against the Zionist regime and spoke about starting trade with Turkey through the Lazur Road and setting up joint exhibitions in Turkey and Afghanistan with the efforts of the businessmen of both countries.

Jang Onal, the charge d’affaires of the Turkish embassy in Afghanistan, also said that they are pleased with the recent developments in Afghanistan and that both sides should work together to expand relations between Afghanistan and Turkey.

He added that “Turkish Airlines” flights to Kabul will start in the coming days.

In this meeting, the two sides, referring to the “good and historical” relations between Afghanistan and Turkey, emphasized the joint effort to achieve the expectations of the two countries.
