PNN – The controversial “Peace Council” plan has conditioned the reconstruction and lifting of the siege on Gaza on disarmament, while Donald Trump ignores the Palestinians’ demands and Hamas and the Israeli regime maneuver under the threat of a return to war.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, after the announcement of the formation of a “Peace Council” based on the US President’s proposed plan, Gaza has entered an ambiguous phase in which the start of reconstruction and the lifting of the siege are conditional on the disarmament of the region. While Donald Trump’s plan ignores any Palestinian desire or existence and treats the people of Gaza based on the logic of force, it seems that the Zionist regime is also waiting for the failure of Trump’s plan so that it can restart the war against Gaza.
The results of Thursday’s peace council meeting had little impact on life in the Gaza Strip and added further uncertainty about the future of the Strip. The meeting set disarmament as a precondition for implementing other provisions of US President Donald Trump’s plan, including rebuilding the Strip and lifting the blockade. Moreover, this situation seems to be related to the financial commitments that Trump is seeking. He has so far provided $17 billion in the cost of rebuilding the Gaza Strip, $10 billion of which came from the United States and another $7 billion from the Gulf States, while the cost of rebuilding the Gaza Strip is estimated at around $70 billion.
In the square, while the Gaza Technocrat Committee announced the start of the registration and recruitment process for the new Palestinian police, the Hebrew newspaper “Yisrael Hayom” wrote about a draft plan on the disarmament mechanism that the committee plans to present to Hamas and Palestinian groups in early March.
According to the Hebrew newspaper, this plan is not limited to Hamas but will also include all other groups in the Gaza Strip, including mercenary groups based outside the “Yellow Line,” and the disarmament of the latter group will be postponed until the final stages of the process to ensure full control of the technocratic committee.
Relying on Peace Council solutions to existing crises is a complete failure
While the implementation of the “20-point plan,” and at its core the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, depends on Hamas’ seriousness in handing over its weapons, the international force will never begin its mission before the disarmament process is complete. Several foreign websites published a map of the deployment of these forces. This international force, which includes countries such as Indonesia, Albania, Kosovo, Turkey, Egypt, and Greece, is scheduled to arrive in the Gaza Strip and begin its mission by May.
The Israeli regime sees all of these developments as an opportunity to undermine the ceasefire agreement and regain its military freedom of action, especially as the regime and the United States continue to threaten to resume the war if Hamas refuses to disarm.
In this context, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said that “Hamas will never agree to disarmament. In that case, Israel will have the opportunity to resume its military operations to destroy Hamas.” On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised speech on Thursday, “We agreed with our ally America that reconstruction will never begin before Gaza is demilitarized.”
The recent meeting of the Peace Council also showed clear tendencies in support of the Zionist regime’s demands, as in most of the statements made, Gaza was considered a crisis related to the internal government and resistance weapons, and the main problem, namely the “occupation”, was ignored.
Also, in the decisions under discussion, any Palestinian will or identity was ignored and the people of Gaza were dealt with through force, while they were expected to surrender completely. All of this is in line with purely economic and investment plans, far from any political solution to the conflict.
