Tel Aviv is trying to pressure South Africa to withdraw from pursuing the complaint.

The American publication Axios reported that Tel Aviv sent a secret message to its embassy in Washington and other consulates across the United States.

On Monday night, the Lebanese website Al-Ahed, citing Axios, reported that Tel Aviv sent a confidential telegraphic message to its consulates in the United States, demanding that the regime be ready to face South Africa’s lawsuit against this regime for committing war crimes in Gaza to the Hague Tribunal. .

This report adds: In its message, Tel Aviv asked its embassy and consulates in the United States to immediately work with federal lawmakers, judges of the Court of Justice, and Jewish organizations to pressure South Africa to change its policies towards Israel.

In this confidential letter, it is explained that “Israel” has warned the judicial authorities in an open threat that the continuation of their current actions, such as supporting Hamas and promoting anti-Israeli actions in international courts, will result in high costs for them.

The report went on to say that Tel Aviv is pressuring members of the US Congress to pressure South Africa to drop its legal proceedings at the International Court of Justice regarding the Gaza war.

According to the American publication, Tel Aviv told its diplomats to establish direct communication with the diplomats of South Africa in the United States by exerting pressure on the representatives of the American Congress and communicating with the Zionist lobbies and to warn them that if this country does not change its judicial procedure It will pay a heavy price against Tel Aviv.

It should be mentioned that on May 24, 2024, the Hague Court held a meeting with South Africa’s lawsuit against the Zionist regime regarding the reopening of aid crossings in Gaza, and by issuing a ruling, it obliged this regime to stop military operations in Rafah and open ground aid crossings to Gaza.

In this case, South Africa has argued that the actions of the Zionist regime in Gaza are an example of genocide because it was carried out to destroy a significant part of the Palestinian population living in Gaza.
