PNN – The recent remarks by Japan’s Prime Minister regarding Taiwan and the subsequent response from a Chinese diplomat have prompted a strong protest from Tokyo against Beijing.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Minoru Kihara said at a press conference on Monday that the threatening post made by a Chinese diplomat on the X platform was “completely inappropriate for the head of a Chinese diplomatic mission.”
He added that Japan’s Foreign Ministry and its embassy in China had lodged a strong protest with Beijing and demanded that the Chinese diplomat delete the post.

According to a Japanese government source, Xie Jian, China’s Consul General in Osaka, posted on the X platform on Saturday in response to comments made by Sanae Takaichi about Taiwan, writing: “Without a moment’s hesitation, we will cut off the unclean neck.” The post continued, addressing Japan’s Prime Minister: “Are you ready for that?”
The tension arose after Takaichi said during a parliamentary committee meeting on Friday that a Chinese military attack on Taiwan could be regarded as a threat to Japan’s existence and that Tokyo might exercise its right to collective self-defense.
China and the island of Taiwan have been governed separately since the civil war of 1949. Beijing regards Taiwan as a breakaway province that must eventually be reunited with the mainland. China considers the Taiwan issue an “internal matter” and views any external comment on it as interference in its domestic affairs.
