The Secretary-General of the Arab League specifically called on Yemeni parties, particularly the Southern Transitional Council, to adhere to de-escalation and avoid actions that undermine national unity.

He warned: Escalating disputes under the current circumstances will impose further negative consequences on the shoulders of the suffering Yemeni people.

In conclusion, Abu al-Ghait noted: The issue of southern Yemen has known historical and social dimensions that must be examined within the framework of a comprehensive political dialogue among all Yemeni parties.

He emphasized: Resolving problems can never be achieved through imposing a fait accompli or threatening the country’s unity; rather, the only path to a sustainable settlement is dialogue and addressing the root causes of the crisis.
