PNN – The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan emphasized that relations between Tehran and Baku are at a very excellent level and that these relations will continue.

On the sidelines of a meeting with journalists from different countries in the city of Khankendi, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev answered questions from a Mehr reporter present at the Shusha Media Conference.

The “Shusha Media Conference” is currently being held in the city of Khankendi, Azerbaijan, with the participation of journalists from various countries.

Ilham Aliyev, noting that “we recently hosted Iranian President Masoud Pezishkiyan in this city of Khankendi, which was a positive event,” said about the prospects for relations between Tehran and Baku: Relations between Tehran and Baku are being pursued at a very good level, our relations with Iran are excellent, and these relations will continue.

He also added about the process of constructing the Aras Corridor through the Aras River: The construction process of this corridor is progressing well, and the project has almost been completed on our side, and we are waiting for the Iranian part to be completed by the Iranian company.

Aliyev further emphasized: We have completed an important part of this corridor in Aqband-Kalalah-Jolfa. I expect this project to be put into operation by the end of this year.

Aliyev said: A route from Iranian soil to Jolfa is being built and will soon be put into operation as a railway route.
