The Election Commission of India has officially confirmed the victory of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party in the country’s parliamentary elections.
Modi is once again retained as India’s prime minister, but this time he will depend on his allies. Because the Bharatiya Janata Party, led by Modi, lost 32 of its 272 seats in the Indian House of Commons, known as the Lok Sabha, compared to the 2019 elections, and thus won 240 seats in this round of elections.
The National Democratic Alliance won a total of 292 seats out of 543 seats in the Indian House of Commons elections. The opposition coalition of the ruling party led by Rahul Gandhi’s Congress party managed to win only 232 seats.
The Congress party, which had won 52 seats in the Indian House of Commons in the 2019 elections, although it won 99 seats in today’s elections, it failed to win over the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party led by Modi.
Voting in the general elections of the House of Commons of India started on April 19.
