News sources have released more details of a message from Saudi King Salman delivered to Iranian officials last month by Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman during his visit to Tehran, which urged a swift acceptance of US President Donald Trump’s offer to avoid war with the Zionist regime.

The sources said that 89-year-old King Salman, concerned about the possibility of regional instability, dispatched his son Khalid to Tehran.

A closed-door meeting was held in Tehran on April 17 with President Massoud Pezzekian, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Mohammad Bagheri, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.

Although the media covered Prince Khalid’s trip to Tehran, the content of the confidential message from King Salman was not disclosed.

Four sources said that Khalid, who served as Saudi ambassador to Washington during Trump’s first term, had warned Iranian officials that the US president’s patience was running out.

Khalid bin Salman has informed Iranian officials that Trump is seeking a quick deal and that the window for diplomacy will close very quickly.

Two Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) sources said the Saudi defense minister had advised that a deal with the United States was preferable to facing a potential Israeli attack if the talks collapsed.

The two sources and senior diplomats familiar with the situation said that Khalid bin Salman had said that the region could not tolerate another conflict after the conflicts in Lebanon and Gaza.
