The representative of “BGI” group emphasized that the biosecurity law is aimed at eliminating competition and strengthening the monopoly of an American company in the DNA sequence market: We are disappointed to see Washington’s due process being abused by a government-sponsored company.

He added: BGI places its highest priority on privacy and strictly follows international and local data protection regulations. Therefore, statements that BJI is controlled by the Chinese government or military are false.”
In the same vein, “Wushi-Up Technology” company stated: However, the exchange and settlement case in Hong Kong will not pose a threat to the United States or any other country.
The Chinese company added that it does not intend to commercialize human genomics or collect human genomic data in the United States, China or elsewhere.
In this regard, US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said: Washington plans to announce proposed rules on vehicles connected to China this fall in line with national security for Americans’ data.
He Yadong, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce of China, also emphasized: Beijing will take decisive measures to protect its rights and interests.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also stated: Unilateral and protectionist actions towards Beijing show that America has lost its trust and will be doomed to failure.
