PNN – The Hill website wrote: Hundreds of foreign students and dozens of universities across the United States have been targeted as the Donald Trump administration expands its plan to crack down on pro-Palestinian students, an issue that has disrupted the American education system.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the American media added: International students in the United States are facing visa cancellations for minor offenses such as traffic violations. This has created an atmosphere of insecurity and American universities are forced to check immigration data to ensure that their students are still allowed to be in the country.
According to Hill, it is still unclear how many visas have been revoked because the State Department refuses to respond to requests to share exact figures and some universities are afraid to protest.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said last month that more than 300 student visas have been revoked under the Trump administration, and the number is increasing every day.

The student visa revocations began at prestigious universities like Columbia, and the first students targeted were pro-Palestinian students. But the scheme has expanded beyond pro-Palestinian students, with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents recently arresting a University of Florida student on a traffic violation and revoking his visa.
The American Council on Education, along with 16 other groups representing a wide range of higher education institutions, wrote a letter on April 4 demanding an explanation from the State Department about these actions.
The letter states: We are seeking transparency amid reports of student visa cancellations and deletions of records in the Student Exchange Information System, which are being done without the knowledge of the students’ host institutions.
Some argue that the federal government’s way of revoking visas is very unconventional and confusing.
Legal challenges to the Trump administration’s approach to revoking student visas are mounting.
Miriam Feldblom, president of the Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration, highlighted the Trump administration’s lack of clear guidance and apparent disregard for due process, which has left universities in a difficult position as they try to balance compliance with federal guidelines while protecting their students.
