PNN – News sources reported that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and US President Joe Biden talked to each other over the phone about the latest developments in the region.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network from Turkey’s Anatolia news agency, Erdogan told his American counterpart that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet has shown at every stage that it does not want to achieve peace and a ceasefire in Gaza.
According to this report, in this phone call, the presidents of Turkey and the United States discussed bilateral relations, the Gaza Strip issue, and the process of exchanging prisoners between Washington and Moscow, which took place in Turkey.
It is stated in this report: Erdogan told Biden in this conversation that Netanyahu’s encouragement during his speech in the US Congress caused deep disappointment in Turkey and the world.
The President of Turkey also emphasized that the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of Hamas, dealt a severe blow to the current efforts for a ceasefire, and that the Zionist regime is trying to spread the ongoing conflicts in Gaza to the entire region.

According to this report, the President of the United States also thanked Erdogan for his efforts to ensure the implementation of the prisoner exchange process between Washington and Moscow that was carried out in Turkey.
US President Biden wrote on Thursday local time on X social media (former Twitter): I am grateful to our allies, including Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Norway and Turkey, who stood by us during the difficult and complex negotiations to achieve this result.
Biden’s comments came after Turkey announced that the country’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) had led a successful prisoner swap involving seven countries in one of the largest swap operations in recent years.
According to security sources, 26 people were transferred to Ankara on seven planes from Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Norway, Russia and two from America. Belarus also participated in this exchange of prisoners.
Biden added: “Today, three U.S. citizens and one U.S. green card holder wrongfully imprisoned in Russia were finally released: Paul Whelan, Ivan Gershkevich, Alesso Kormasheva, and Vladimir Kara Morza.”
