PNN – The Emergency Organization of Kazakhstan announced that the passenger plane of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which was flying from Baku to the city of “Grozny” in Russia, crashed today (Wednesday) in the city of “Agh Tau” located in the southwest of Kazakhstan.
The plane caught fire after the crash of Azerbaijan Airlines Flight 8432 and rescue teams are trying to extinguish the fire, the Hurriyat newspaper website quoted the Kazakh Emergency Management Agency as saying.
The statement of this organization states: 52 employees and 11 equipment units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan have been sent to the region. Upon their arrival, the plane caught fire and the rescue operation continues and the information about the victims is being investigated.
Initial reports indicate that this plane was carrying 105 passengers and five flight crew.
The Minister of Health of Kazakhstan told reporters that a total of 6 passengers were saved in this plane crash, but later, the Ministry of Emergency Affairs of Kazakhstan announced the number of survivors at 25.
Azarnews website stated that the cause of this accident was the collision of a plane with a group of birds.
