Recently, Mustafa al-Nuaman, deputy foreign minister of the self-proclaimed Yemeni government, announced readiness to form an alliance with Ansarullah forces in order to support the country’s territorial integrity against southern separatists.

These remarks provoked a reaction from Anwar al-Tamimi, the official spokesman of the Southern Transitional Council, who said matters have reached the point where al-Nuaman is speaking of an alliance with Ansarullah forces.

Al-Tamimi also claimed that the principles of the decisive battle against what he called the Iranian project in Yemen are being targeted. He said these statements not only threaten the residents of southern Yemen but also pose a threat to the Saudi-led coalition itself, which was formed to confront Ansarullah forces.

It is worth noting that Emirati mercenaries have expanded the scope of areas under their control in eastern and southern Yemen in recent weeks, a move that has been opposed by the self-proclaimed Yemeni government and Saudi-backed mercenaries. Previously, both the UAE and Saudi Arabia had intervened to support their respective proxies in these clashes.
