The cry for the liberation of Palestine echoes once again in London; protest against ceasefire violations and massacres in Gaza

PNN – As the Israeli regime resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip and blatantly violated the ceasefire, hundreds of British citizens and pro-Palestinian activists gathered in front of the Israeli embassy in London to condemn the regime’s crimes.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the demonstrators in this protest movement, holding Palestinian flags and placards with slogans such as “Free Palestine” and “Stop supporting Israel,” demanded an end to London’s arms and diplomatic support for Tel Aviv. They chanted slogans condemning the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza and emphasizing the need for an immediate ceasefire.

Bin Jamal, head of the Palestinian Solidarity Movement and one of the main organizers of the demonstration, said in an interview: We are here to once again be the voice of the Palestinian people. Just two months after implementing the ceasefire, Israel has once again shown its true colors and, by violating the agreement, has unleashed a new bloodbath.

Referring to the recent statements of the British Foreign Secretary in Parliament, he said: David Lammy spoke the truth for a moment, stating that Israel had violated international law, but the Prime Minister immediately backed down. This speaks to the depth of London’s passivity and subservience to Israeli policies.

The Israeli regime admits that 78,000 Israeli soldiers and security forces have been injured since October 7, 2023.

Today’s demonstration came as the British government imposed strict restrictions on anti-Israeli gatherings. Police moved the rally to a location further away from the entrance to the Israeli embassy, a move that organizers called a “violation of people’s democratic rights to protest.”

Lindsay German, a veteran anti-war activist and senior member of the Stop the War Coalition, said in his speech at the rally, criticizing government pressures and restrictions on protests: We have fought for generations to protest and stand up against injustice, and for the right to stand in solidarity with the oppressed. But today these rights are under serious threat. Israeli lobbies constantly pressure the government and police to silence our voices, and the government passes ever more repressive and restrictive laws on protest.

The participants in the demonstration, chanting slogans for the freedom of Palestine, announced that they would continue their demonstrations until the country was liberated. Nadia Khan, a Muslim student from Manchester who came to London to participate in the rally, said in an interview: I come to London every week for these marches because I cannot remain indifferent to the killing of children and the silence of the media. Israel has not only violated the ceasefire, but also enjoys the support of the British government to continue this killing.

The Zionist regime launched a devastating war against the Gaza Strip, which has left more than 60,000 martyrs and tens of thousands injured. This war has not only caused widespread destruction of the region’s infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, and water and electricity supply networks, but has also led to the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, severe food shortages, and an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. Images released from Gaza show the complete destruction of residential neighborhoods, long lines of people waiting to receive the meager humanitarian aid, and hospitals unable to provide medical services due to a lack of medicine and fuel.

After weeks of intensive mediation negotiations with the participation of Qatar, Egypt and the United States, a ceasefire agreement was implemented between the Zionist regime and Palestinian resistance groups. This agreement included a cessation of hostilities and an exchange of prisoners; however, the Israeli regime, violating its commitments, has resumed widespread attacks against the oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza. The clashes have intensified in recent days and the number of Palestinian martyrs is rapidly increasing.
