The cry of “Palestinian freedom from the river to the sea” from the language of the elected member of the Australian Senate

PNN – The “Guardian” newspaper, referring to the fiery criticism of “Fateme Peyman”, an Australian politician and senator member of the Labor Party of this country, against the genocide of the Zionist regime of Israel in Gaza, wrote: Singing the slogan “From the Nile to the sea, Palestine will be free” by this female politician was met with opposition from Australian figures who support Israel.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network from this English media, Peyman, in a significant departure from the positions of the Australian Labor Party, called for a boycott of the Israeli regime and announced: The slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” means the freedom of Palestinians from occupation, freedom from violence and freedom from inequality.

This Afghan senator of Western Australia state sent her statement on the 76th anniversary of “Nakbat Day” (the anniversary of the beginning of the displacement of Palestinians from their homeland) to two media (SBS News) (Capital Brief) and acknowledged that there is a lot of frustration in the (Australian) society with the political parties of this country.

Peyman, who is the first woman wearing an Islamic hijab to enter the Australian Senate, said: I ask the Prime Minister and the members of our parliament (Australia), how many laws of international law must Israel violate before we say (war against civilians) is enough? How many lives must be lost before we say enough is enough? What is the magic number for that? How many more Palestinian lives need to be lost for us to call violence against them terrorism and genocide?

This Muslim senator, a member of the Australian Labor Party, pointed to the establishment of pro-Palestinian student gatherings that have been held in many universities in this country and have resulted in the lack of support from Australian authorities and said: Australian parliamentarians and senators cannot cut off their connection with the Australian people.

According to this report, prominent Jewish groups supporting the Israeli regime in Australia claim that the phrase “from the Nile to the sea, Palestine will be free” is hateful and threatens Israel’s existence.

Alex Revchin, one of the chief executives of the Executive Council of Australian Jews, described Peyman’s comments as “hateful” and demanded an immediate apology.

He claimed that the slogan “Palestinian freedom from the river to the sea” is an old Arab supremacist slogan and calls for the destruction of Israel and the ethnic cleansing of its Jewish population.

Meanwhile, defenders, including Palestinian-American writer Yusuf Munir, have argued that this phrase expresses the desire of Palestinians to “live in their own land as free and equal citizens.”

Also, Nasser Meshni, head of the Palestine Support Network in Australia, thanked Mrs. Peyman for “telling the truth in order to preserve the dignity of life and human rights.”
