The Dark Underbelly of Israel, America, and the West.
Since the outbreak of the Gaza war on October 7, 2023, the Israeli army has killed nearly 170 Palestinian journalists and injured many others, adding to its long record of crimes that include all sorts of war crimes, aiming to disrupt the reporting of the brutal war against this strip of land.
In this context, American author and journalist Mark Glenn responded to questions from Mehr News about the double standards of Western countries regarding Palestine. Here is the detailed interview:
Dozens of journalists were targeted and killed during the Gaza war. Can this significant number of journalist deaths at the hands of Israeli forces be considered accidental, or were they deliberately targeted?
For logical individuals, especially those familiar with the workings of this regime, it is clear that journalists are systematically and intentionally killed by the Israeli military. Israel is built on lies and deception, and whenever they commit a heinous crime, like bombing a school full of students or killing journalists, they claim it was a “mistake.” But that’s just part of their crimes. They not only deliberately kill journalists but seem to take pleasure in it.
Why does the Israeli regime target journalists, especially considering that journalism and media are essential for the development of democracy worldwide?
Jews have learned throughout history—whether in Greece, Rome, Persia, Europe, the Middle East, or the Far East—how non-Jews think, and they act based on these specific patterns of thought. Hence, shortly after the first infamous Zionist Congress in 1897, convened by Theodore Herzl, the idea of seizing Palestine and the rest of the Middle East formed in their minds, and they quickly took control of all the existing mass media at that time, especially in America and the West.
They realized that what they aimed for required possession of the minds of the people in those countries, meaning controlling what people see, hear, read, and think.
Now the question is, why does Israel target journalists and media despite their necessity for information sharing? The reality is that Israel has no interest in democracy and never has, nor will it. Just like corrupt and ugly individuals who mask the stench of their decaying bodies and souls with heaps of perfume, Israel uses terms like democracy to describe its criminal nature, while in truth, its real identity resembles more that of ISIS, a terrorist and reactionary political structure that can’t tolerate discussion or opposing voices.
