The desire to divide Syria; Why won’t the Zionist regime’s attacks on Damascus stop?

Ten days after the fall of the Assad regime and the rise of armed opposition to control Damascus, the Israeli army continues to violate the 1974 ceasefire agreement and target strategic centers deep in Syrian territory. In addition to occupying the remaining third of the Golan Heights and Mount Hermon, the Israeli regime is advancing in the buffer zone with Syria and occupying some strategic points in Quneitra province. At the same time, Israeli fighter jets have targeted more than 500 strategic points in Syria, destroying a large part of the Syrian army’s air force, navy, defense sites, missile depots, etc. The recent series of actions by the Israeli regime in Syria has raised the question among both favorable and unfavorable analyses of the Syrian resistance: why is Netanyahu continuing past aggressions on Syrian territory after the fall of Assad? Some analysts believe that regardless of the presence or absence of resistance on Syrian soil, the Zionist regime does not want a “strong neighbor” on its northern borders and intends to eliminate the tools of power of the future Syrian government under various pretexts.

Over the past two decades, the Resistance Axis has been able to arm the Lebanese, Palestinian, Syrian, and Iraqi resistances, using the advantage of geopolitical continuity, without the need for a “green light” from a third state or the cooperation of other non-state groups. Accordingly, the Unified Resistance Axis gained this advantage to create a united front against the Zionist regime without the slightest challenge. In other words, one of the reasons for the formation of the “unity of the fields” strategy was the presence of Syria among the sides of the Resistance Axis. With the conquest of Damascus by the armed opposition and the change in the policies of this Arab country regarding the corridor for the transfer of weapons and equipment to the Lebanese borders, the Zionist regime hopes to complete the encirclement of Hezbollah forces and launch a second wave of attacks in southern Lebanon shortly.
