The difference between direct and indirect negotiations; Trump has two scenarios when confronting Iran.
Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, efforts to weaken Iran have been the top priority of American presidents, and Tehran has always been a major obstacle to achieving the goals of the axis of evil, namely the United States and the Zionist regime.
In this regard, the US government has used all the necessary tools and strategies to confront Iran, and while it knows very well that any military attack against Iran will have disastrous economic and financial consequences for this country, it continues to make threats in order to pursue the negotiations.
In this regard, Mehr News Agency reporter Warda Saad conducted a conversation with Dr. Talal Atrisi, a professor of social sciences and a researcher on regional issues. The text of the conversation is as follows:
The threats of the United States and the Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran have reached their highest level. How do you assess the horizon of these threats, and where do you think the barbarity of the Americans in this regard will reach?
The US threats against Iran are a method that all successive US governments, whether Republican or Democratic, have used since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in this country. These threats have not only been military but have sometimes taken the form of sanctions and blockades. However, in all these stages, the methods of successive US governments, although accompanied by some twists and turns, have been similar to each other, and the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been on the main agenda of US presidents.
The performance of Donald Trump, the current US President, in this regard, although slightly different, is no different in its main content from the performance of others. He is cooperating to the greatest extent with the dreams of the Zionist regime, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has put forward in the geographical expansion of this regime. Netanyahu is trying to realize what he has called the “new Middle East” and in this regard has counted on US support, because he cannot do anything alone and make any changes in the region. The war in Gaza and Lebanon shows that all decisions made by Tel Aviv must be accompanied by the consent and support of the United States.
The threats made against the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the threat of assassination and similar cases, are a form of psychological warfare against this country, because the United States sees Tehran as a major obstacle to its projects and the Zionist regime’s in the Middle East and believes that Iran, despite all the sacrifices made in Gaza and Lebanon, is still at the center of the axis of resistance and is a major obstacle to American-Zionist projects. This is why the United States has applied extensive psychological pressure and many military threats, and this was also clear in the message of US President Donald Trump to Iranian leaders, who, on the one hand proposed dialogue and the other hand, brazenly threatened to fire missiles at the country.
