PNN – A new survey tells about the distrust of American citizens in the election system of this country and shows that almost half of the Republicans will not accept the result if the Democratic candidate wins the 2024 presidential election.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Hill’s website wrote, citing the results of the “Global Justice Project” survey: 46% of Republicans said that they would not accept the election results if the candidate of this party lost, and 14% of all Republican respondents in this survey said that they would upset the results if the opposition party won.

The new report of this non-profit organization, which claims to improve the state of the rule of law in the world, using a recent survey, showed that 27% of Democrats said that even if the candidate of the rival party wins, they do not consider the result of the 2024 election to be legitimate, and 11% said that if the candidate of the Democratic Party loses, they will act to disrupt the election results.

These results showed that after the 2020 elections, the American society still distrusts the electoral process in their country and will eventually question the results presented in the November elections.

One-third of Republicans and two-thirds of Democrats believe election officials are trustworthy.

Elizabeth Andersen, executive director of the Global Justice Project, in analyzing these results, said: Distrust in the electoral process is a warning sign on the eve of the elections. It is necessary that government officials, media and leaders of our various communities and informed citizens work to build trust and commitment to the rule of law.

Americans will go to the polls on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 to elect the next president of the United States. The winner of this election will start the four-year presidential term from January 2025.
