The escalation of the war in Sudan and the risk of famine lurking for millions of people

Pak Sahafat – Thousands of people from Sudan have evacuated their cities after the escalation of the conflict between the Rapid Support Forces and the army, and the risk of famine threatens many of the country’s residents.

According to Pak Sahafat International News Agency, thousands of Sudanese have fled from the city of “Wadashna” in southern Sudan after the rapid support forces’ attacks intensified in the war with the army, and millions of citizens of this country are at risk of famine.

According to the “New Arab” website, citing local residents, fighters of the Rapid Support Forces with dozens of armed vehicles attacked the city of “Wadashna” on the border between North Kordofan and White Nile states.

According to this report, the war between Abdul Fattah al-Barhan, the commander of the Sudanese army, and his former deputy and commander of the support forces, Mohammad Hamdan Daghlo, which began in April, left nearly 7,500 dead.

The worst violence occurred in the city of Khartoum and West Darfur. Approximately 4.3 million people have been displaced by the war in Sudan and another 1.2 million have fled across the borders.

Footage released by the Rapid Support Forces on social media showed them capturing the Wadashna barracks in North Kordofan and advancing.

The United Nations has declared that the war in Sudan, one of the world’s poorest countries, has brought a humanitarian disaster to the African country, with millions of people on the brink of famine and infectious diseases spreading.

Conflicts in Khartoum are going on in neighborhoods that have the highest population density. Millions of people have been facing daily attacks and water and electricity cuts for the past 15 months due to this war. The northern neighborhoods of Khartoum also witnessed rocket and artillery attacks.
