In an interview with the Moscow-based newspaper Izvestia, Grushko said: There are different estimates. If we talk about the main part of exports, the total loss (of the European Union) due to the termination of cooperation in the energy sector and restrictions on trade with Russia is more than a trillion dollars. In 2013, our trade volume was 417, and last year it was 60 billion euros, and now we are practically approaching zero. This means a loss.
According to him, the cost of natural gas in Europe is four or five times higher and electricity is two or three times more expensive than in the United States. This is the price that Europe must pay for limiting all its contacts and economic relations with Russia.
