According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the first message from Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has been published. The text of this message is as follows:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

At the beginning of my speech, I must offer my condolences to my Lord, may God hasten his return, on the occasion of the heartbreaking martyrdom of the great leader of the revolution, the dear and wise Khamenei, and I ask His Holiness to pray for the entire great nation of Iran, and indeed for all Muslims around the world, and for all the servants of Islam and the revolution, and for the martyrs and survivors of the Islamic movement, especially the recent war, and for myself.

The second part is my speech to the great nation of Iran. First of all, I must briefly state my situation and position regarding the vote of the esteemed Assembly of Experts. I, your servant Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, learned about the result of the vote of the esteemed Assembly of Experts at the same time as you and through the Islamic Republic’s television. It is difficult for me to sit on the seat where two great leaders, the great Khomeini and the martyr Khamenei, sat. Because this seat has the history of sitting on someone who, after more than 60 years of striving in the way of God and giving up all kinds of pleasures and comforts, has become a shining gem and a distinguished figure not only in the present era but throughout the history of the rulers of this country. Both his life and the manner of his death were imbued with the glory and dignity that came from relying on the truth.

I had the opportunity to visit his body after his martyrdom; what I saw was a mountain of strength and I heard that his healthy hand was clenched in a fist. Those who know him will have to say a lot about the various aspects of his personality. At this point, I will limit myself to this summary and leave the details to other appropriate occasions. This is the reason for the difficulty of relying on the leadership seat after such a person. Bridging this gap is only possible with the help of the Almighty and the help of you, the people.

In the following, it is necessary to emphasize a point that is directly related to the essence of my words. That point is that among the arts of the martyred leader and his great predecessor was to involve people in all areas and continuously provide them with insight and awareness, and in practice, rely on their strength. In this way, he actualized the true meaning of the republic and the republicanism, and he believed in it from the depths of his soul. The clear effect of this was seen in the few days when the country was without a leader and without a commander-in-chief. The insight and intelligence of the great Iranian nation in the recent incident, and its steadfastness, courage, and presence, made friends admire and the enemy bewilder. It was you, the people, who led the country and guaranteed its authority. The verse that I quoted at the beginning of this article means that there is no divine verse that either expires or is forgotten unless it is replaced by something similar or superior to it by the Almighty.

The reason for using this noble verse is not that I am on the level of the martyred leader, let alone that I want to be considered superior to him; rather, the purpose of mentioning this holy verse is to pay attention to the worthy and prominent role of you, the dear nation. If that great blessing was taken away from us, instead, the constructive presence of the Iranian nation was once again granted to this system. Know this, if your power does not appear on the scene, neither the leadership nor any of the various institutions whose true status is to serve the people will have the necessary efficiency. In order for this meaning to be better realized, first of all, the remembrance of God Almighty, trust in His Majesty, and recourse to the pure lights of the infallibles, may God bless them all, should be viewed as the greatest elixir and red match that guarantees all kinds of openings and a definitive victory over the enemy. This is a great advantage that you possess and your enemies lack.

Secondly, the unity between individuals and groups of the nation, which usually finds particular expression in times of hardship, must not be undermined. This will be achieved by disregarding points of disagreement.

Thirdly, an effective presence on the scene must be maintained; whether in the way you have shown yourself in these days and nights of war or in the form of various effective roles in various social, political, educational, cultural and even security fields. It is important that the correct role is well understood and implemented to the extent possible without compromising social unity. One of the duties of the leadership and some other officials is to point out some of these roles to individuals or segments of society. Therefore, I would like to remind you of the importance of attending the Quds Day ceremony, in which the element of breaking the enemy must be of concern to everyone.

Fourth, do not neglect helping and assisting each other. Thank God, this is the usual characteristic of most Iranians, and it is expected that this will be more evident in these special days, when some members of the nation are naturally going through a more difficult time than others. On this occasion, I ask the service organizations not to hesitate to provide any kind of help and assistance to those dear members of the nation and to the popular relief structures in this regard.

If these aspects are observed, the path to your beloved nation’s days of greatness and glory will be smooth. The closest example of this could be, God willing, victory over the enemy in the current war.

The third part of my speech is a sincere thank you to our brave warriors who, in circumstances where our beloved nation and homeland have been unjustly attacked by the leaders of the arrogant front, have blocked the enemy’s path with their crushing blows and have removed them from the illusion of the possibility of dominating our beloved homeland and possibly dividing it.

Dear brothers in arms! The will of the masses is to continue the effective and regrettable defense. Also, the lever of blocking the Strait of Hormuz must definitely be used. Studies have been conducted on opening other fronts where the enemy has little experience and will be extremely vulnerable, and their activation will take place if the war situation continues and based on the observance of interests.

I also express my sincere gratitude to the fighters of the Resistance Front. We consider the countries of the Resistance Front our best friends, and the cause of resistance and the Resistance Front are an inseparable part of the values of the Islamic Revolution. Undoubtedly, the solidarity of the components of this front with each other will shorten the path to liberation from the Zionist sedition; as we have seen, the brave and faithful Yemen did not stop defending the oppressed people of Gaza, and the devoted Hezbollah has come to the aid of the Islamic Republic despite all obstacles, and the Iraqi resistance has also courageously taken the same line.

In the fourth part, I will address those who have been harmed in some way in the past few days. Whether they have experienced the martyrdom of a loved one or loved ones, or those who have been injured, or those whose homes or businesses have been damaged. In this section, I would first like to express my deep sympathy for the survivors of the martyrs of high rank. This is based on the common experience that I have with these great men; apart from my father, whose loss has become a public matter, I have also entrusted to the caravan of martyrs my dear and loyal wife, whom I had high hopes for, my devoted sister who had devoted herself to serving her parents and finally received her reward, as well as her young child and the husband of my other sister, who was a learned and noble person. But what makes patience in adversity possible and even easy is paying attention to the certain and certain promise of God of a precious reward for the patient. Therefore, one must be patient and have hope and trust in the grace and protection of the Almighty.

Secondly, I assure everyone that we will not refrain from avenging the blood of your martyrs. The revenge we intend is not only related to the martyrdom of the great leader of the revolution; rather, every member of the nation who is martyred by the enemy is an independent subject for the revenge case. Of course, a limited amount of this revenge has been realized so far, but until it is fully achieved, this case will continue to be on top of other cases, and we will be especially sensitive to the blood of our children. Therefore, the crime that the enemy deliberately committed in the case of the Shajarah Tayyiba Minab School and some similar cases has a special place in this investigation.

Thirdly, the veterans of these attacks must receive appropriate medical services free of charge and benefit from some other benefits.

Fourth, to the extent that the current situation allows, adequate measures should be defined and implemented to compensate for financial damages to personal property and premises. The last two items constitute a binding obligation for the respected authorities, who must implement them and report them to me.

The point I must point out is that in any case, we will seek compensation from the enemy, and if he refuses, we will take as much of his property as we determine, and if that is not possible, we will destroy the same amount of his property.

The fifth part of the speech is addressed to the leaders and influential ranks in some of the countries of the region. We have 15 neighboring countries on land or in water and have always been and are willing to have warm and constructive relations with all of them. However, the enemy has been gradually establishing military and financial bases in some of these countries for years to ensure its dominance over the region. In the recent attack, some military bases were used, and naturally, as we had explicitly warned, we simply attacked those bases without attacking those countries. From now on, we will inevitably continue to do so; although we still believe in the need for friendship between ourselves and those neighbors. These countries must find out what their duty is with the invaders of our beloved homeland and the murderers of our people. I recommend that they close those bases as soon as possible; because they must have realized by now that the claim of establishing security and peace by America was nothing more than a lie.

This will help them to establish closer ties with their own nations, who are generally dissatisfied with their association with the infidel front and its humiliating behavior, and will increase their wealth and power. I repeat again that the Islamic Republic, without seeking to establish domination and colonialism in the region, is fully prepared for unity and warm and sincere mutual relations with all its neighbors.

In the sixth part of the speech, my speech is with our martyred leader. Leader! With your departure, you have brought a heavy burden on the hearts of all. You have always yearned for this fate until finally; the Almighty granted it to you while reciting the Holy Quran on the morning of the tenth day of Ramadan. You have endured many injustices with great strength and patience and have not bowed your head. Many have not recognized your true worth, and perhaps it will be a long time before all kinds of veils and obstacles are removed and some aspects of it become clear.

We hope that from the position of proximity that has been provided to you alongside the righteous, martyrs, and saints, you will continue to think about the progress of this nation and all the nations of the Resistance Front and intercede for it, just as you did in your worldly life. We pledge with you to strive with all our hearts to raise this flag, which is the main flag of the Front of Truth, and to achieve your sacred goals.

In the seventh part, I would like to thank all the dignitaries who have supported me, including the great religious authorities and various cultural, political, and social figures, and the people who have attended the grand gatherings to reaffirm their allegiance to the regime, as well as the officials of the three branches of government and the interim leadership council for their good measures and actions.

I hope that God’s special grace will encompass the entire Iranian nation, and indeed all Muslims and the oppressed people of the world, in these blessed hours and days.

And finally, I ask our master (may God hasten his return) to seek from the Almighty God, during the remaining nights and days of power and the blessed month of Ramadan, a decisive victory over the enemy for our nation, as well as honor, prosperity, and well-being, and for their departed ones, positions and well-being in the hereafter.

Peace be upon you and may God’s mercy and blessings be upon you

Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei
