The future of Iran-US nuclear talks’

The future of Iran-US nuclear talks.

Iraqi analyst and political activist Najah Muhammad Ali sent a special note titled “The Future of Iran-US Nuclear Talks” to the Mehr News Agency International Group, the full text of which is as follows:

The nuclear talks between Iran and the United States remain in the spotlight of global attention, as their consequences will have far-reaching effects on regional and international stability. Based on US and regional intelligence information, as well as the positions of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, especially Saudi Arabia, and the role of Iraq, the future of these talks can be predicted.

The region is witnessing tensions, including the continued aggression against Yemen and reports of a ground offensive against Ansar Allah and the ruling government in Sanaa. Given the increasing role of regional countries, the talks face complex challenges but may lead to new scenarios based on the balance of interests and strategic pressures.

With reports of a possible political solution to the Iranian nuclear issue emerging, it is noteworthy that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman, have taken a united stance in support of the Iran-US talks, albeit conditional on security and economic guarantees.

According to credible reports, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar have refused to allow the Israeli regime to use their airspace to launch a military strike on Iran, indicating their desire to avoid direct conflict with Iran. Economic concerns drive this stance, as the Gulf states depend on the stability of their oil markets and vital infrastructure, which could be targeted by Iran or its allies, such as Ansarullah in Yemen, if tensions escalate, especially with the continued US attacks on Sanaa. These countries also see the talks as an opportunity to achieve regional stability that supports their development plans, such as Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to diversify the economy and reduce dependence on oil.
