PNN – Informed sources told Reuters that the Ukrainian government has informed the White House that it intends to remove the army chief, Valery Zalogeny.
According to Pakistan News Network, Reuters wrote on Saturday, quoting a source close to Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s office, that the President of Ukraine has opposed Zalogheny’s request to call up 500,000 new troops.
The source added that Zalogheny will remain in his position as commander-in-chief for the time being, and that Ukrainian officials are considering options for his replacement.
Another source, who asked not to be named, said that the White House has not commented on Zalogeni’s replacement and “has not agreed or disagreed with this executive decision.”

He added that the White House said that “this sovereign decision is related to Ukraine itself”, but a source close to Zelenskyi’s office claimed that the United States has no problem with removing Zalogeny.
According to knowledgeable sources, the date of Zalogeny’s removal and introduction of his successor is not yet known, and currently, the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Commander of the Army are continuing with the normal routine of affairs “until further notice”.
Zelensky and Zalogheny have differences with each other regarding the strategy of the army and other issues. The issue of Zalogeny’s dismissal has been raised while Ukraine’s counterattack against Russian forces was not very successful.
