PNN – In recent days, some Western media outlets have been talking about a joint Israeli-American war to surprise the Islamic Republic of Iran, while making less mention of the major victim of the “Operation Deception.”
Earlier this year, US President Donald Trump shared a video on the Truth Social platform in which Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for calling for the United States to go to war with Iran.
In describing the reasons and motivations for the US invasion of Iraq in 2003 and Netanyahu’s efforts to influence US policy, Sachs stated, “I’m sorry to say this, but he is a deeply evil, black-hearted person who wants to drag America into war.”
With the beginning of the first round of negotiations between delegations from both sides, headed by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi and Trump’s special envoy Steve Whittaker, the US President repeatedly spoke of the progress of the negotiations and the approach to an agreement.

What do you know about the Israeli Weizmann Institute, which was targeted by Iran?
In the first week of June, the Axios report, citing a White House official and an informed source, even claimed that Trump had warned Netanyahu in a phone call to avoid any action that might interfere with and jeopardize the Iran-US nuclear talks.
Despite the perception among many observers and even analysts that Trump had effectively taken the military option off the table in confronting Iran, despite serious differences between the US and Islamic Republic delegations over the issue of nuclear enrichment, the aggressive and terrorist attacks by the occupying regime on Tehran and several other cities began on Friday morning.
It was after these attacks began that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is known as a warmonger and anti-Iranian figure, tried to distance his country from this Israeli action, but Trump, in a strange comment that contradicted his previous declarative approaches, supported Netanyahu’s aggression and warmongering.
Praising the performance of American weapons, he wrote on his virtual page: America makes the best and most deadly military equipment in the world, and Israel has a lot of it, with much more on the way, and they know how to use it.
He also threatened that future attacks on Iran, which are already being planned, will be even more brutal.
However, Trump has once again emphasized his readiness to negotiate with Iran and has tried to convey the message to Tehran that the only way forward is to reach an agreement with him; otherwise Iran will face severe consequences.
In the days following the attack, Trump pretended that the Iranians’ refusal to reach an agreement through diplomatic channels was the main reason for recent events. After the Zionist regime began its attacks, Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social in a rude and demanding tone: Two months ago I gave Iran a 60-day ultimatum to make a deal. They had to do it. Today is day 61. I told them what to do, but they couldn’t get there. Now maybe they have another chance!
This is while during the negotiations, which were scheduled to be held for the sixth round on Sunday, it was the Americans’ withdrawal from the initial agreement that prevented the negotiations from progressing. It was in this context that in late April, the Wall Street Journal, referring to Whittaker’s interview with Fox News, reported the Americans’ explicit acceptance of Iran’s right to enrich uranium.
Many analysts say that in recent weeks, the US government and its diplomatic mission in negotiations with Iran have backed away from this initial agreement under the influence of pressure and instigation from Zionist lobbies.
On the other hand, the Wall Street Journal, in its report on the matter, stated that the announcement of the talks on Sunday was a cover for preparing the ground for military action against Iran, in order to “take the Islamic Republic and its military forces by surprise” during an “operation of deception.”
The New York Times also reflected this view in its report, claiming that several Islamic Republic officials told this American media outlet that the White House’s positions had caused a “major miscalculation.”
Trump, who, riding the wave of demands from his supporters known as MAGA, had announced his main promise to avoid getting involved in any war, is now facing a difficult situation; a situation in which not only has there been no progress in the process of ending the war in Ukraine and attacks from both sides have sometimes intensified, but has also put the Middle East on the brink of an all-out war.
In this situation, Israeli officials have announced their demand for the United States to enter the war directly, which means that they believe that Trump has completely failed to follow through on his slogan and promise that not a single shot will be fired after his presidency.
