PNN – “The Guardian” likened the actions of “Donald Trump” and “Elon Musk” in the large-scale purge of the employees of important institutions of the United States to a coup d’état and considered these actions to be more than cost reduction and a factor in destroying the structures of American democracy.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, this British newspaper wrote that Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s extreme plan to cut billions of dollars in federal spending annually through massive job cuts and rule changes has led legal experts, Democrats and state attorneys general to accuse them of illegal actions and undermining the power of Congress and the judiciary.
Referring to the widespread criticism of Trump and Musk, Guardian added: In a contradictory behavior, Trump has raised Musk’s cost reduction program as a vital factor to curb financial abuses; But one of his first actions last month was to fire 17 senior inspectors of government agencies, known as “inspectors general”, whose regular duties are to uncover corruption, waste of resources and abuse in federal offices.

According to this report, Democratic critics and legal experts consider the firing of these inspectors by Trump and the operations led by Musk as clear examples of the abuse of executive power to the detriment of Congress and transparency.
Democratic Senator “Sheldon Whitehouse” likened the firing of these investigators to “firing the cops before the bank robbery” and added: It is clear that this is a deliberate attempt to create chaos in the government, to help Trump’s big donors and special interest groups who see the government as intrusive in various ways.
According to the Guardian, all these events happened while Musk was present in the Oval Office of the White House next to Trump, and even Trump approved the actions of the ministry of efficiency and attacked the judges. Therefore, legal experts, attorney generals and Democratic figures in Congress have warned that Trump and Musk’s claims about improper judicial intervention and some of their actions are a threat to the rule of law and the American Constitution.
Stating that the threatening actions of the Trump administration increase the risks for judges, the report added: Legal experts are also increasingly concerned that Musk and Trump will undermine the authority of Congress by abusing their power.
