The Guardian’s account of the news silence caused by the internet outage in northern Gaza

PNN – The Guardian newspaper spoke about the oppression of the victims of the Zionist regime’s attacks in the besieged area of northern Gaza and wrote: The interruption of the Internet and communication lines and traffic restrictions due to Israeli attacks have made it difficult to report timely and adequately the deterioration of the situation in this area and to rescue the victims by rescue teams.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Guardian wrote: With the reconnection of the internet in Jabalia located in the north of Gaza after it was cut off last week, Anas al-Sharif, a reporter of the Al Jazeera news channel, tried to tell the world what happened during the hours of the internet cut in this area in his social media account.

He wrote: (Regime) Israel targeted several residential houses on the street of Al-Hujja region in its attacks and almost 150 people were killed and wounded, but no one knows the exact number of victims.

In the tighter than ever siege of the Israeli regime in Jabalia and several areas of northern Gaza, which have been tightened by the presence of tanks and ground forces, civilian defense teams and media members are unable to rescue people trapped under the rubble. Except for people like al-Sharif who himself lives near this area, they cannot report.

Al Jazeera’s reporter reported in a video of the dark and silent streets of this area: There are no rescue groups or news coverage, and there is nothing but death and destruction. No one comes to save them.

After a few days, there is still no official or comprehensive report of the attacks in Al-Hujja; The situation in the north of Gaza, where traffic and communication have become extremely difficult, is repeated four weeks after the resumption of the Israeli invasion (regime) in this area.

The Israeli regime has routinely cut off Gaza’s telephone and internet networks during the year-long war against the Palestinians. Telephone and Internet networks are offline due to infrastructure damage or power outages or generator fuel.

Civilians, humanitarian forces, medical teams and reporters and journalists in northern Gaza say that the problem is getting worse day by day and the efforts to save the lives of the victims are becoming more difficult and they are not allowing journalists.

Transportation between hospitals, relief organizations, and health sector workers is sporadic, and the ground war has made traffic in this area very dangerous, and therefore, it is difficult to coordinate and collect information about casualties and injuries. Civilian defense services were suspended last Wednesday after Israeli forces attacked an aid team. The attacks of the Israeli regime destroyed their fire truck.

The Gaza Ministry of Health announced that the air and ground operations of the Israeli regime in northern Gaza have killed at least 800 people. 400 people living in this area say that the situation has not been so difficult so far. (Regime) Israel has attacked hospitals and shelters, and water and food reserves are running out due to the interruption of aid transfers and the siege of Jabalia, Beit Lahia and Beit Hanun due to traffic restrictions. Several people who spoke to The Guardian said that safe drinking water had also run out for more than a week and that they were drinking small amounts of sewage water to survive each day.

The Gaza Human Rights Center announced in its new report that at least 170 journalists have been killed in Gaza and 86 media institutions have been destroyed.

Reporters without Borders director Fiona O’Brien said: We are completely dissatisfied and angry with the continuation of baseless accusations about the connection of journalists in Gaza with terrorist groups…. The documents published by Israel (regime) do not show enough evidence to prove these accusations, and there is no permission to making journalists testify and exposing them to higher risks is not.
