The head of the European Council called Israel’s attack on UNIFIL forces in Lebanon “unacceptable”.

PNN – Today (Friday), the President of the Council of Europe, Charles Michel, condemned the attack by the Zionist regime on the United Nations peacekeeping forces (UNIFIL) during peacekeeping operations in southern Lebanon and called it “unacceptable”.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network from the French news agency, “Charles Michel” on the sidelines of the summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Laos, condemned the recent attack of the Zionist regime on southern Lebanon, which resulted in the wounding of 2 UN peacekeepers.

He said: The attack on the UN peacekeeping mission is neither responsible nor acceptable.

The head of the European Council continued: We ask Israel and all other parties to fully observe and respect international humanitarian law.

The United Nations peacekeeping forces, which are called UNIFIL for short, are stationed in the border region of southern Lebanon with the northern occupied territories. Referring to the repeated attacks of the Zionist regime on its bases in the Ras al-Naqourah region in the border region of Lebanon, UNIFIL announced that two peacekeepers were injured in the attack by the tanks of the Zionist regime yesterday.

A spokesperson for UNIFIL has told the media that the Israeli regime’s attack on UNIFIL forces was most likely intentional.

After this attack, the authorities of France and Italy requested a meeting between the countries sending troops to UNIFIL. The Italian Defense Minister said: This attack was not an accident or a mistake.

The Ministry of Defense of Italy also found this attack by the Israeli regime’s soldiers intolerable and summoned the ambassador of this regime to the place of this ministry.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain also condemned this attack in a statement.

Simon Harris, the Prime Minister of Ireland, also said in a message in response to this attack by the Zionist army that he is deeply worried and that this action is intolerable.

The White House, which has closed its eyes to all the crimes of the Zionist regime against the people of Gaza and Lebanon in the past year, also called this attack “deeply disturbing”.
