PNN – “Dyala Shehadeh” member and former lawyer of the International Criminal Court said that the new ruling of the International Court of Justice regarding the war against the Gaza Strip was more decisive than the previous rulings of this court.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Shahadeh added in an interview with “Al Arabi” TV: As South Africa, as a plaintiff, announced, the ruling issued by the International Court of Justice was more decisive than the rulings issued in January and March. The judges of this court spoke about the worsening of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip compared to the time of issuing the previous verdicts.
This expert and legal activist and former lawyer of the International Criminal Court added: The new ruling of the International Court of Justice about the necessity of stopping military operations in Rafah was within the framework of its authority and in line with the previous rulings in this case.
Shehadeh said: It is clearly stated in the International Court of Justice’s ruling that any operation in Rafah may lead to partial or total destruction in this city, and Israel must immediately stop military attacks on Rafah.
He clarified: No change can be seen in this ruling except for the withdrawal of Israeli soldiers from Rafah, because South Africa, in addition to stopping military operations, demanded the complete withdrawal of Israeli soldiers from Rafah.

Shehadeh added: The reason for agreeing to South Africa’s request in the court to stop the military operation was that Rafah is the only remaining refuge for the refugees of the Gaza Strip.
The International Court of Justice on Friday, after examining South Africa’s complaint, ordered the suspension of military operations in Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip.
Nawaf Salam, the head of the International Court of Justice, said on Friday that South Africa has requested the court to take additional measures regarding the military operations in Rafah.
Referring to the deterioration of the living conditions of the residents of the Gaza Strip, he said: the situation in Rafah after several weeks of bombing is catastrophic, and since the beginning of the ground attack, about 800,000 people have been displaced.
Judge Salam said: The temporary measures adopted by the court in March are not responsive in view of the recent developments and Israel should refrain from any operations that are considered a danger to the Palestinians.
He clarified: The court is not satisfied with the measures taken by Israel in Rafah, international officials have warned about the dangers against civilians in Rafah, the current situation also has dangers and will cause irreparable damage to the rights of the people in Gaza.
He added: According to the Genocide Prohibition Treaty, any operation in Rafah may lead to partial or total destruction in this city, and Israel must immediately stop military attacks on Rafah. From our point of view, any military operation in Rafah will cause total destruction in the region.
