The International Maritime Organization: 18 shipping companies are not crossing the Red Sea.
The International Maritime Organization announced early Thursday that 18 major shipping companies in the world have said that due to attacks on ships in the Red Sea, they have chosen the longer route around Africa for their vessels.

With the continued operations of the Yemeni army and armed forces against ships and vessels related to the Zionist regime in the Red Sea in support of the people of Palestine and the Gaza Strip, shipping companies have decided to change their route from these waters.

The International Maritime Organization announced on Friday that 18 major shipping companies in the world have chosen the longer route around Africa for their vessels due to attacks on ships in the Red Sea.

According to the Sputnik news agency, the organization, based in England, said in a statement: “We have a budgeted program and financial support from the European Union to increase maritime security in the Red Sea.”

The statement said: “The guidance and change of route of ships to South Africa and from there to Europe and other parts of the world has increased the cost of maritime transportation.”

Earlier, 12 member countries of the American maritime coalition in a statement admitted that ships were refraining from crossing the Red Sea due to attacks by the armed forces and the Yemeni army, and demanded that attacks on Zionist ships be stopped.

The Ansar Allah movement in Yemen, which currently controls much of the country, has declared since the start of Israel’s attacks on Gaza that ships owned or bound for Israel in the Red Sea are targets for attack. Ansar Allah has stated that the Red Sea is safe for other ships.

Yemeni army attacks in the Red Sea began on November 19, and the Ansar Allah movement has announced that they will continue until Israel’s attacks in Gaza cease. The US government claims that from that day to the present, 24 attacks on ships in the Red Sea have taken place.
