The Israeli army carried out an operation aimed at assassinating Mohammed Al-Sinwar.

The Israeli Channel 12 TV reported this morning that after a long period of effort to identify “Mohammed Sinwar”, a senior figure in the military wing of the Hamas movement, the Israeli army identified Sinwar yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon and targeted the European Hospital in Khan Younis in an attempt to assassinate him.

In this context, a security source in the Southern Command of Gaza stated in an interview with the Israeli Channel 12 TV that Sinwar was one of the most stubborn enemies of the Israeli regime and a serious opponent of the Israeli authorities’ proposed plan for a prisoner exchange. He claimed that eliminating Sinwar could greatly help advance an agreement with Hamas in the interests of the Israeli regime.

According to the Israeli Channel 12 TV report, security officials stated that the outcome of the assassination of Mohammed Sinwar is still unclear and they estimate that it may take some time, even several weeks.

In this regard, sources in occupied Jerusalem claimed yesterday evening that the assassination of Mohammed Sinwar was the result of a quick bombing and was successful. These sources added that the Israeli army has been focusing on the assassination of Mohammed Sinwar for a long time, but yesterday they missed an opportunity and decided to carry it out at the moment.

The Zionist media reported that the Israeli army released images of the attack on the place where Mohammed Sinwar was assassinated this morning.

In this regard, the Israeli army spokesman issued a statement claiming that the army and the regime’s internal intelligence agency (Shabak) destroyed an underground Hamas infrastructure in the area of the European Hospital in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. However, the Zionist Channel 12 added: The statement did not provide information on the elimination or the success of the assassination operation.

The Israeli army spokesman also added: “In the last hours before the assassination, a discussion took place on this matter, and ultimately the operation was approved by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Minister of Defense Israel Katz, and Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir.” According to the Israeli Channel 12 TV, in the past month and a half, the regime’s army has assassinated more than 50 senior Hamas figures in various bombings, and if the assassination of Muhammad al-Sinwar also occurs, only a few senior figures in the military wing of Hamas in Gaza will remain, such as “Izz al-Din al-Haddad”, the commander of the Qassam Brigades’ operations in the northern Gaza Strip, “Ra’d Sa’d”, the Hamas operational commander, and Muhammad Shabana, the commander of the Rafah Brigade.
