PNN – An Israeli official announced the regime’s official opposition to the proposed five-year ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing the Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed news website, he, whose name was not mentioned, emphasized: Israel officially rejected the offer of a five-year ceasefire in exchange for the release of all Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip.
Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed reported on Saturday that a Hamas delegation had visited Cairo, and quoted some Egyptian sources as saying: The Hamas delegation is carrying a proposal that includes a comprehensive agreement, whereby all living prisoners and the bodies of dead prisoners held by the resistance are released simultaneously, a complete end to the war is declared, and an agreement is reached on the Israeli regime’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.

According to these sources, the proposal also included the possibility of setting a timetable for the Israeli regime’s withdrawal and a five-year ceasefire during which all obstacles to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip would be removed.
In this regard, Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya announced last week that Hamas was ready to begin negotiations that would lead to the release of all prisoners in exchange for a complete cessation of hostilities, a complete withdrawal of the occupiers from Gaza, and the start of reconstruction and lifting of the siege.
On October 7, 2023, the Israeli regime launched a war against the Gaza Strip with two main goals: to destroy the Hamas movement and to return the Zionist prisoners from the region, but it failed to achieve these goals and was forced to reach an agreement with the Hamas movement to exchange prisoners.
On January 19, 2025, based on an agreement between Hamas and the Israeli regime, a ceasefire was established in the Gaza Strip, and a number of prisoners were exchanged. However, the Israeli regime subsequently refused to enter into negotiations for the second phase of the ceasefire and resumed its military aggression against the Gaza Strip, violating the terms of the ceasefire.
