It should be mentioned that Nayef Al-Sudairi, the new non-resident ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Palestine, entered the West Bank through the King Hussein Bridge at the head of the Saudi delegation. Al-Sudairi, who had met with Riyad Al-Maliki, the Foreign Minister of the Autonomous Organization after arriving in Ramallah, as Riyadh’s non-resident ambassador to Palestine and the country’s consul general in the occupied Jerusalem, presented a copy of his strong letter to Mahmoud Abbas. After presenting his credentials, the Saudi ambassador met and talked with the head of the Palestinian Authority.
This is the first visit of a Saudi delegation to Palestine after the signing of the Oslo agreement between the Zionist regime and the self-governing organizations in 1993, according to which the establishment of the self-governing organizations was accepted by the Zionist regime. This trip takes place while extensive efforts are underway to normalize relations between Saudi Arabia and the Zionist regime; an issue that has caused the concern of the Palestinians.
