Hamas’ response to this proposal
The Hamas movement has made adjustments to the plan and emphasized the need for its continuity with the January 17 agreement.
Based on these amendments, Hamas has offered to hand over only “Aidan Alexander” and four Israeli bodies, provided that the release of Palestinian prisoners is carried out in a specific and guaranteed manner.
Hamas has also called for the immediate start of negotiations on a permanent ceasefire, along with a prisoner exchange, the opening of crossings, and the delivery of humanitarian aid before the handover of Israeli prisoners.
Israel’s response to the mediators
Tel Aviv presented its official response tonight, demanding the release of 11 live prisoners, including “Aidan Alexander,” and the handover of 16 bodies.
Israel’s proposal calls for the release of 120 Palestinian prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, 1,110 other prisoners from the Gaza Strip, and the handover of 160 Palestinian bodies.
Israel has called for the duration of indirect negotiations after the release of prisoners to be reduced from 50 days to 40 days and has emphasized that a permanent ceasefire should be conditional on receiving information about other Israeli prisoners.
Contrary to Hamas’s proposal, Israel made no mention of a withdrawal from the Gaza Strip in its response and called for the establishment of mechanisms to ensure that humanitarian aid is sent only to civilians.
