The latest developments in Syria: from complaints against Israel to America’s appeasement of ISIS.
According to Russia Today, Syria’s representative to the United Nations, Qusay al-Dahhak, sent two letters to the Secretary-General of the organization and the President of the Security Council, stressing that: “At a time when Syria is witnessing the beginning of a new phase in its history, the Israeli army has invaded the country’s territory and occupied more Syrian lands in Jabal al-Sheikh and Quneitra province, simultaneously carrying out heavy attacks.”
According to Russia Today, the letters date back to December 9.
The letters state that the Israeli attacks against Syria and its military and civilian positions are continuing.
Al-Dahhak also stressed that Syria condemns in the strongest terms the Israeli aggression, which is a violation of the 1974 agreement. The United Nations and the Security Council must also fulfill their duties to immediately stop the regime’s aggression and withdraw the Israeli troops from the areas under attack.
He wrote in these letters that he acted on the orders of the new government in Syria.
