PNN – The Guardian newspaper wrote in a report that with increasing signs of Israel’s (regime) reluctance to implement the UN Security Council resolution on an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, more than a hundred members of the British House of Commons and Lords requested an arms embargo in a joint letter to the Foreign Minister of this country.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network from this English newspaper, the letter, drafted by Mrs. Zahra Soltane, a representative of the Labor Party and signed by 107 members of the House of Commons and 27 members of the House of Lords, states that “business as usual” for British arms exports to Israel is “totally unacceptable” because Britain is used in Gaza.
The authors of the letter stated: “Today, the scale of violence perpetrated by the Israeli army is deadly, but the British government has failed to respond.”
This letter was published while the United Nations Security Council (Monday) passed a resolution supporting an immediate ceasefire in this strip after nearly 6 months since the start of the war against Gaza and the martyrdom of tens of thousands of Palestinians.

In this resolution, all parties are asked to respect the immediate cessation of hostilities during the month of Ramadan, but the occupation regime’s crimes against the oppressed Palestinian people are still continuing despite the approval of this resolution.
This regime has closed all crossings in the Gaza Strip and while bombing this strip, it does not allow the arrival of relief aid for civilians. According to reports, more than 32,000 Palestinians have been martyred and more than 74,000 others have been injured.
British Foreign Minister David Cameron has warned the Israeli regime that if it does not allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza and is not subject to international laws, the arms cooperation with this regime will be stopped.
Cameron is said to have told Israeli officials in recent talks that “arms embargoes” may be imposed if Hamas prisoners in Israel (Occupied Palestine) are denied access to meet with the Red Cross.
According to the Guardian report, an increasing number of human rights organizations have also called for the cessation of British arms cooperation with the Zionist regime. Mrs. Sultane stated in this regard: Considering that Israel has ignored the ceasefire resolution of the UN Security Council, the British government should support the rights of the Palestinian people, heed the request of 130 cross-party representatives and immediately end the sale of arms to Israel.
