The member of the American Congress supported the slogan “from the river to the sea”.

PNN – Jamal Bowman, a member of the US House of Representatives and as one of the legislators of the Congress, while defending the slogan “From the river to the sea” of the pro-Gaza protesters, which means the freedom of Palestine, did not consider it anti-Semitic.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network from the New York Post newspaper, the American congressman, who participated in a televised debate last night, criticized anti-Israel protesters who use this slogan, despite criticism from the Anti-Defamation League (an organization based in New York whose main task is to combat anti-Semitism).

Bowman said in this debate with George Latimer as one of the city managers of Westchester (an area in upstate New York): I know some people do it and others don’t, I don’t make that slogan either.

Latimer countered: I think these words are abhorrent, because I think it’s clear that the slogan from the river to the sea means the eradication of the Jewish population from the land of Israel.

He then added: Behind this expanding anti-Semitic campaign is the attempt to delegitimize Israel and hope for the existence of a free Palestine, but we must accept the fact that Israel also exists there.

Bowman, as an American lawmaker who is a staunch critic of Israel, has repeatedly called for a permanent ceasefire following the October 7 attack by Hamas and has also criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

He also faced the anger of many American politicians because of calling Israel apartheid.
