PNN – The New York Times revealed that thousands of calls from American flood victims in Texas went unanswered by the country’s disaster management agency.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Russia Al-Youm, the New York Times reported that American officials were unable to respond to thousands of requests for assistance from flood victims in Texas due to a shortage of personnel in the Emergency Management Agency.

Two days after the deadly and devastating Texas floods, the agency was unable to answer emergency phone calls from American citizens because it had not renewed the contracts of some of its employees. According to the report, nearly two-thirds of those calls went unanswered.

The devastating Texas floods have killed more than 120 people so far. A large number of residents in the flooded areas are also missing.
