The nightmare that Washington has had for Beirut on the borders of Cyprus.
In a situation where the Lebanese government has completely surrendered to American dictates and has recently paved the way for the complete domination of Lebanon by the Americans and the Zionists by approving the decision to disarm the resistance, Lebanese sources have warned in recent days about Washington’s new dangerous plan in this country.
In this regard, the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar referred to the new dangerous plan of the United States to offer 5,000 square kilometers of Lebanon’s wealth resources to Cyprus. The text of the report is as follows:
Lebanese government is on the verge of repeating the scandal of the 2007 agreement with Cyprus
The Lebanese government, under the oppressive guardianship of the United States, which seeks to deprive Lebanon of its rights, is rapidly moving towards repeating the scandal of 2007, when the government squandered Lebanon’s rights in a dubious agreement with Cyprus, and this agreement was at the cost of losing thousands of kilometers of Lebanon’s economic waters.
Today, with Washington rushing to organize the Eastern Mediterranean gas file in line with its interests and the Zionist enemy, it seems that the scene of 2007 is being repeated; where we witness the obedient performance of the Lebanese government, the lack of any national strategy to defend rights, and the government’s blatant negligence that could lead to the loss of 5,000 square kilometers of Lebanon’s natural gas and oil resources.
What is happening today is not simply a naval negotiation; it is a battle for sovereignty and existence in which the Lebanese government has practically not taken into account the country’s national interests. The new American mandate over Lebanon, by dominating the country’s decision-making, is exerting unprecedented pressure to resolve outstanding issues; of course, in a way that serves Washington’s and Tel Aviv’s interests in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The issue of determining Lebanon’s maritime borders with Cyprus was raised in line with the 2007 agreement, which was very unfair that year and was signed during the government whose Prime Minister was Fouad Siniora, and after the departure of the Shiite ministers, this government had lost its legitimacy.
