The ongoing saga of US presidents: Trump and Rubio stumbling on steps.

The ongoing saga of US presidents: Trump and Rubio stumbling on steps.

President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio both fell on Sunday while boarding Air Force One en route to Camp David.

The fall came after Trump spoke to reporters in Hagerstown, Maryland, when he was asked if he would invoke the Riot Act in response to protests over immigration raids in Los Angeles.

A reporter asked Trump if he believed there was a riot going on.

“No,” he added, “but there are violent people and we are not going to let them get away with it.”

Asked if he would deploy troops even without invoking the Riot Act, Trump said: “We will send troops everywhere. We are not going to let that happen to our country. We are not going to let our country fall apart like we did under Joe Biden.”

Trump has regularly mocked former President Joe Biden for his frequent falls during his presidency. This time, it was Trump who was the one who was mocked by social media users.

“I wonder why Trump hasn’t replaced those stairs with some kind of escalator,” said social media user RC Hoffman.

“When Joe Biden did these things, Fox would repeatedly air them, as if they were as important as the moon landing,” noted journalist Aaron Ropar.

“I can’t wait for all the books and nonstop news coverage about Trump’s falls,” said political strategist Marco Freire.
