The Pentagon announced the formation of an international coalition in the Red Sea.
The US Secretary of Defense announced on Tuesday morning that a coalition of 10 countries has been formed to counter the operations of the Yemeni army against Zionist ships in the Red Sea.

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced on Tuesday morning that a multinational coalition has been established to counter the operations of the Yemeni army in the Red Sea.

In a statement, Austin said that in addition to the United States, this coalition includes England, France, Italy, Spain, Norway, the Netherlands, Canada, Bahrain and Seychelles.

According to the “Associated Press” news agency, he continued: “The countries participating in this coalition conduct joint patrols in the south of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.”

The US Secretary of Defense claimed: “The recent increase in Houthi attacks in the Red Sea threatens the free flow of trade, violates international law, and requires collective action.”

According to this report, Austin claimed that the operation of the Yemeni army against the ships associated with the Zionist regime is an international challenge and requires collective action, adding: “The goal of the new coalition is to guarantee freedom of navigation and improve the security of the region.”

After the extensive attacks of the Zionist army on the Gaza Strip, the Yemeni army has been able to attack several Israeli ships or ships destined for the occupied territories in support of the Palestinian people.

In recent weeks, in parallel with the intensification of the Israeli regime’s attacks against Gaza, the Yemeni army has narrowed the field for Israeli ships that intend to pass through the Bab al-Mandab strait in the Red Sea. It has targeted Eilat.

40% of the world’s international trade is carried out through this strait, which passes between Yemen, at the southwestern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, and the African continent.
