The Pentagon is sending 300 more US troops to West Asia

PNN – Amid the escalation of tensions between the Palestinians and the Zionists in the occupied territories, the Pentagon announced plans to send 300 more American troops to West Asia.

According to the International group of Pakistan News Network, While on Thursday of last week (October 26), the Pentagon announced that it would send 900 American troops to the United States Central Terrorism Command (CENTCOM) region in West Asia, Pentagon spokesman General Pat Ryder announced (Tuesday) that another 300 troops would be deployed.

The “Daily Caller” website reported in this regard, Ryder said that in the midst of continuous attacks by regional resistance groups on US military bases in Iraq and Syria, the Pentagon is sending 300 more troops to West Asia.

The Pentagon had previously said that 900 American soldiers would be sent to West Asia with the aim of launching more air defense systems and strengthening deterrence against resistance groups in the region that continue to target American positions in Iraq and Syria.

According to the report of the “Military Times” website, with the dispatch of another 300 American troops, the total number of American troops sent to CENTCOM will increase to 1,200 American troops, and these troops will be drawn from a group of 2,000 American troops who are on standby for are located in the region.

Ryder said in this regard the other day: “These additional forces will provide explosive ordnance disposal capabilities, communications and other support factors to forces already in the area.”

He further added that the American army will not be sent to the occupied territories and “intends to support the regional deterrence efforts and strengthen the protection capabilities of the American forces”.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has also activated several Patriot and THAAD systems “at locations throughout the region to enhance the protection of U.S. forces,” according to a statement from the Department of Defense.

Ryder said yesterday that since October 17, US troops deployed to defeat ISIS have been attacked at least 27 times, 16 times in Iraq and 11 times in Syria.

The United States of America bombed two facilities of the resistance groups in eastern Syria last Friday (October 27). Resistance groups in Iraq have threatened that if the United States helps the Zionist regime in the war against the Palestinians, they will target the American forces in their country.

According to this report, the United States has about 2,500 troops in Iraq and another 900 troops in Syria, and claims that these troops are participating in the fight to defeat ISIS.
