The plan to clean up the US government with Trump’s decision to cut staff at the CIA.
The Guardian wrote: An official familiar with the Trump administration’s decision, who asked not to be named, confirmed the current changes in the CIA and other intelligence agencies in the country.
The American newspaper Washington Post reported that Trump informed members of the US Congress on Friday of his plan to reduce the number of CIA personnel.
According to the report, the reduction in personnel will be carried out over several years and is part of the government’s plans to reduce employment. The plan includes hundreds of people who have already applied for retirement.
In response to questions about the reduction plan, the CIA issued a statement saying that CIA Director John Ratcliffe is trying to align the agency’s programs with Trump’s security priorities.
Ratcliffe has put forward significant changes in the CIA’s operations and focus and has promised to reform the agency.
The American official claims that he intends to strengthen the use of human resources and focus on China.
The CIA earlier this year became the first U.S. intelligence agency to voluntarily accept Trump’s plans to reduce its workforce. Trump has promised to shrink the federal government in the name of greater efficiency. The National Security Agency has also asked some of its employees to voluntarily resign.
Tulsi Gabbard, a spokeswoman for the Office of National Intelligence, declined to immediately comment on the matter. Gabbard’s office oversees the activities of 18 intelligence agencies that collect and analyze intelligence.
The Trump administration has also eliminated the “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” program at the intelligence agency. However, a federal judge has challenged the president’s decision, temporarily blocking the firing of 19 employees from the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program.
