The “pointless assassination”; Israelis flee like mice.
Former mayor of Kiryat Shmona, Prosper Azran, on Thursday, January 3, called the assassination of one of the leaders of the Hamas movement pointless and emphasized, “This operation did not keep the dangers away from us; they can target us from anywhere they want.”

We are so besieged that we always run away like mice; none of our actions, not even the invasion of Gaza, proved useful. This heavy confession is from an Israeli official that Hebrew media are currently republishing.

Aran, in his interview with Hebrew media, revealed the tough living conditions in the northern occupied territories and stated that after October 7, “about 22,600 Israeli residential units left the settlements because they were being bombed day and night.”

Israeli flight from northern settlements

The American newspaper The Wall Street Journal reported that the number of displaced settlers from the northern occupied territories has exceeded 230,000 due to Hezbollah attacks.

Last night, as a result of an Israeli drone attack on the southern suburb of Beirut, a Hamas office was targeted, resulting in the martyrdom of three people, including Saleh al-Arouri, and the injury of 11 others. In response to the assassination of the deputy head of the Hamas political office, Hezbollah emphasized that this crime will not go unanswered.

An Israeli local official, Arzan, while criticizing the performance of Tel Aviv authorities towards Lebanon, considered the situation in the north as indicative of “years of neglect” and explained that “we allowed Hezbollah to get close to our border and even go beyond it; the pitching of tents by Israelis is an acknowledgment of the failure of deterrence.”
