The possibility of a meeting between Trump and Jinping.

According to Bloomberg, after meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Y,  on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit in Malaysia, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the possibility of a meeting between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping, the presidents of the United States and China, respectively, is very high.

Rubio described the meeting with his Chinese counterpart as “very constructive and positive.” This high-level diplomatic meeting is considered a precursor to a summit between the leaders of the United States and China, a meeting that Trump had previously expressed his desire to hold before the end of 2025.

Regarding a possible meeting between Trump and Jinping, the US Secretary of State said: “Both sides are very interested in this. I think it is very likely that such a meeting will happen.”

According to him, the two countries will work together to find a “mutually acceptable date” for the summit to be held at the presidential level.
