At the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations, the president began his speech with verses from the Holy Quran, and then, holding up a copy of the Quran, he told the audience: “The Quran never burns, it is eternal.”
Ayatollah Raisi dedicated the beginning of his discussion to the issue of Quran burning in Europe, which in recent months has been repeated more than 10 times by radical and extremist people in the three countries of Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands.
The offensive action of the European governments in issuing permission to burn Qurans is more of a political game than it is in line with the freedom of expression; Just as the insult to the Holy Qur’an was done in front of the Turkish embassy in Sweden with the aim of gaining points from the leaders of Ankara for agreeing to Stockholm’s accession to NATO.
