The president of Columbia University in America has resigned.

According to the Associated Press news agency, “Minouche Shafik” (Minouche Shafik), the president of Columbia University, resigned from his position after a short and tumultuous period.

“Minush Shafiq” announced in this regard: I was able to decide this during the summer. My decision to resign will help Columbia University overcome the challenges ahead.

It should be noted that his resignation took place a few months after the height of the demonstrations of pro-Palestinian students at Columbia University.

Earlier, after the protesting pro-Palestinian students refused to collect the tents set up on the campus of Columbia University, the university authorities started suspending the students.

Minoosh Shafiq, the then-president of Columbia University, announced in a statement that after several days of negotiations between the organizers of the student protests and the university authorities, the administration failed to convince the protesters to collect the tents. Protesting students have started an unprecedented sit-in in massive protest against the Zionist regime’s encroachment on the Gaza Strip.

Columbia University sent a warning letter to protesting students and set a deadline to collect the tents. Also, the protesting students were required to sign a form that stated that their participation in the protests would result in their suspension and finally disqualification from finishing the semester.
