The president of Vietnam resigned.

The president of Vietnam resigned.

According to Rashatudi, the government of Vietnam announced this Wednesday that the Central Committee of the ruling party agreed to the resignation of President Vu Van Tung due to “shortcomings and shortcomings” by publishing a statement.

The statement stated that “Tong violated party rules” and further emphasized that “these shortcomings have negatively affected public opinion, the reputation of the party, the government, and him personally.”

The Party Central Committee, the highest decision-making body in Vietnam’s ruling Communist Party, approved Tung’s resignation just a year after his election.

The president in Vietnam has a largely ceremonial role but is one of the top four political positions in the Southeast Asian country.

Tung’s resignation comes days after the arrest of an official said to have been involved in corruption a decade ago when Von Van Tung served as party chief in Quang Ngai province.

At the end of January 2024, “Nuen San Phu”, the former president of Vietnam, resigned. It was announced that Sanfu had been under heavy criticism for a long time due to the wrongdoings of several of its employees and cabinet ministers. 68-year-old Phu, a former prime minister, served as the president of Vietnam for 2 years. Phu was the Prime Minister of Vietnam between 2016 and 2021 and then was elected as the President of the country in April 2021.
