Netanyahu’s fear of Palestine supporter demonstrations in American universities

At the same time that 200 days have passed since Israel’s war in Gaza and the continuation of this regime’s unpunished crimes against the innocent Palestinian people with the support of the financial, military and political support of the Joe Biden government, American universities are the scene of student repression by the police.

Protests in American universities to end Israel’s war in Gaza and send weapons to this regime continue despite police repression, and Columbia University, the center of the “Solidarity Movement with Gaza” in recent days, has asked students to end this round of rallies.

New York police announced on Tuesday local time that 133 arrested New York University students have been released after a court summons was issued for them. Meanwhile, protests have risen in Yale, Columbia and other American universities.

The spokesperson of New York University, in justifying the behavior of the officials of this university to coordinate with the police in order to suppress pro-Palestinian students, claimed that this is why they decided to call the police because other protesters who did not belong to this university, suddenly entered through the barriers surrounding the sit-in.

According to the announcement of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, since October 7, 2023, at the same time as the Al-Aqsa storm operation began, 34,183 Palestinians have been martyred in Gaza and 77,143 others have been injured.
